Description: The grandfather of Eva talks about the life on winter days in Malans: In the resorts, people come especially for winter sports. For us farmers is a good deal, but we are happy when it thaws in the spring. The boys are out with bells and singing to Chalandamarz. On the way to school with me, Eva carrys the milk to the cheese factory. Some school children are presented: Eva Sprecher, Marie-Louise Hardmeier, Bernhard Liechti, "Graziella Apetilo" Mr Salzgeber the teacher, family Liesch makes cheese. In the Valley vegetables and fruits are grown. But Switzerland is also building on its industry: watches, music boxes, cameras, etc. Back in Malans we see the butcher Stocker and the family Boner (Rudolf and Ursula) enjoying a fondue. Once a year there is a cattle market. The military preparedness of the Swiss people is summoned and our democracy praised.
